Blago

If you have nothing better to do Wednesday, March 25th between 7am and 9am find something other than listening to our wonderfully disgraced ex-governor, Ronnie Blago guest host the Don Wade and Roma show.  If I were Drew Peterson, I would feel a little shafted by my publicists.  They can get Blago a guest host gig, but all I got was a crappy interview on the Today show?

Thanks to WLS Radio, Blagojevich now has a free two hours for an infomercial.  I just don't see the guy talking about anything relevant without trying to insert himself into the topic.  Immigration?  He's the son of working class immigrants!  Taxes?  He never would have raised them!  AIG Bailouts?  He didn't get a bonus for having a vacant Senate seat, so why should they get a bonus!  Rep. Barney Frank on Justice Scalia?  Let's just say there may be some expletives followed by derogatory names!  The producer better keep his finger near the kill button.

With that being said, how is all the corruption in Chicago politics going to be cleaned up when we see one of the worst offenders get rewarded with a book deal and a guest host gig on a radio show?  Maybe next they should get Tony Rezko to do a special weekend show on how to profit in the current real estate market!  Let's not stop there, can't we find a way to get Bernie Madoff to do a going away noon business hour?

The other terrible thing to come out of all this is that WLS will be rewarded with good ratings for its drive-time slot.  As much as people are and will complain about WLS doing this, there will be that many more that will want to listen to the show.  Watching (or listening to in this case) Rod Blagojevich's life is like slowing down to check out a car crash.  We want to see how many bodies are pulled out of the wreck.
